Understanding Hybrid Cloud Computing

Hybrid cloud unlike private and public cloud is a composition of two or more clouds which can be private, community or public that remains clearly distinct entities yet are bound together, offering the benefits of multiple models. Hybrid cloud as said also indicate the ability to connect juxtaposition, managed and/or dedicated services with cloud resources. As defined by various experts- it is composed of some combination of private, public and community cloud services acquired from various service providers. It cross all the providers boundaries so that every thing can be put in a single category of private, public, or community cloud service. It permits the aggregation and integration with another cloud service. It can also be customized.

There are an array of uses of hybrid cloud computing. For example, an organization may store some private client data in house on a private cloud application, but interconnect with a public cloud as a software service. This example of such model, extends the capabilities of the enterprise to deliver a specific business service by adding an externally available public cloud services, where the adoption depends on a number of factors, for example data security and compliance requirements, level of control needed over data, and the applications an organization uses.

Hybrid cloud is mainly valuable for its dynamic and highly changeable workloads. To explicate with another example of the model is one where IT organizations use public cloud computing resources to meet the temporary capacity needs, which are otherwise cannot be met by the private cloud. The model has lot of benefits and advantage over the other models. The capability enables the model to employ cloud bursting for scaling across clouds. Cloud bursting is an application deployment model where an application runs in a private cloud or data center and “bursts” to a public cloud when the requirement for computing capacity increases.

One major advantage of cloud bursting and a hybrid cloud model is that an organization require paying extra for compute resources only when these resources are needed. Cloud bursting allows data centers to create an in-house IT infrastructure, which is further capable of supporting certain workloads and utilize the cloud resources from public or private clouds, during spikes in processing demands. The model of hybrid cloud is called “Cross-platform Hybrid Cloud.” It is a built atop heterogeneous hardware, With the various jargons the fact remains that the model is suited in any sector with dynamic work environment. The different models of internet is designed in the way that suits to the way based on organization need and requirement.
